Aimetis CEO Guest Speaker at OSCE Security Congress

Security officials from 20 OSCE field missions participate in AIRA v5 intelligent video surveillance demonstration

Vienna, Austria; November 17, 2004 – Aimetis Corp., chief executive officer Marc Holtenhoff spoke about the benefits of intelligent video surveillance technology yesterday at a private security congress held by the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria. Participating in the two-day event were security officials from OSCE field missions in former Soviet Union and Balkans countries such as Albania, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Ukraine among others.

The OSCE is the largest regional security organization in the world with 55 participating States from Europe, Central Asia and North America. It is active in early warning, conflict prevention, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation. Headquartered in Vienna, the Organization employs about 3,000 staff around the globe in missions and field activities ranging from providing assistance to the Afghan Presidential elections to organizing initiatives regarding implementation of Kazakhstan’s new Land Code.

“The OSCE is involved in many missions and activities that deal with a wide range of security related issues, and the use of video surveillance is a critical component of our security infrastructure” explains Mr. Ernst Blaschko, Protective Services Officer for the OSCE. “Aimetis’ AIRA v5 is a highly advanced intelligent video surveillance software that can prevent or delay security threats.”

AIRA v5 is the industry’s first software that combines advanced intelligent video surveillance technology with network video recording capabilities. The software, which is based on artificial intelligence called "computer vision", analyzes incoming video against user-defined security policies or rules . When an event violates a policy, for example, a person enters a restricted area or a vehicle parks next to a building, AIRA v5 can alert a security agent via email, SMS, and pager or take automated action such as sound an alarm, lock a door or zoom-in a camera on the activity.

“We’ve worked with several international organizations with diverse security needs when it comes to video surveillance” explains Marc Holtenhoff, CEO of Aimetis. “Through the use of our software, organizations like the OSCE can receive early warning about threatening events or, in some instances, prevent the event from occurring outright.”
